Carrasco Defends Dialogue to Improve Castellón's Municipal Budget

The mayor of Castellón has reaffirmed her administration's commitment to dialogue and consensus.

The Mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, has reaffirmed her administration's commitment to dialogue and consensus in the development of the municipal budget. This Tuesday, she met with the spokesperson for Compromís, Ignasi García, to analyze proposals that could be incorporated into the local accounts.

The meeting, which also included the government spokesperson, Vicent Sales, and councilors Vera Bou and Pau Sancho from Compromís, is part of the local executive's willingness to consider all initiatives that contribute to the development of Castellón, regardless of their political origin.

"What is good for Castellón will be considered, regardless of the party proposing it. This is a government that listens, dialogues, and advocates for reaching consensus," the mayor stated.

Carrasco highlighted that, although the City Council is open to all parties, only Compromís has requested an official meeting to present their proposals.

Municipal Budget Priorities

During the meeting, issues such as education, healthcare, and industrial land, which are key to the city's economic development, were addressed. Additionally, the mayor outlined the main strategic lines of the 2025 budget, including the improvement of cleaning services, the strengthening of public safety, the promotion of affordable housing, and the encouragement of employment.

Carrasco emphasized the need for the opposition to play a constructive role and contribute to improving the city with realistic and viable proposals. She also stressed that the budget surplus will be allocated to projects that add value to Castellón and improve the quality of life for its citizens.

"The development of actions that make Castellón a city of opportunities and attractive for investment is our priority," she concluded.
