Carlos Mazón announces the expansion of Hospital Clínico de Valencia
The hospital will have over 200 beds and an investment of 70 million euros.
The president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, has highlighted the importance of phase I of the expansion of the Hospital Clínico de Valencia, which will add more than 200 beds with a budget exceeding 70 million euros. This work is part of a broader project aimed at providing a modern and comprehensive hospital that meets the healthcare needs of the Comunidad Valenciana.
Mazón has emphasized that this action is a clear example that healthcare is a priority for his Consell, which in 2024 had the highest budget in the history of the Generalitat despite underfunding. The new facilities, scheduled for 2027, will include:
Hospitalization rooms.
Medical ICU.
Radiodiagnosis floor.
Rehabilitation and pharmacy services.
Warehouses and general facilities for the entire hospital complex.
Additionally, the expansion will house a new oncohematological day hospital, which will increase from 23 to 62 places, a significant advancement in the fight against cancer, which Mazón described as "our main enemy."
Phase II: outpatient consultations and new functionalities
The recently completed phase II of expansion, which is already operational, has provided the center with an additional 17,000 m², including:
177 consultation rooms and special technique rooms.
Five new day hospitals, with 115 treatment chairs and beds.
Modern spaces like a cafeteria, an auditorium, and training classrooms.
A double passage circuit to improve functional assistance.
This space also stands out for its modern and energy-efficient architecture, with a vertical garden and measures to preserve heritage elements of the original 1960s building.
The expansion has been designed with sustainability criteria, achieving the highest energy rating (letter A) thanks to:
High-efficiency insulation.
Solar collectors and advanced climate control systems.
Low-consumption lighting and equipment.
Use of renewable energies like photovoltaic and aerothermal.
Mazón has emphasized that energy optimization is not only a benefit for the environment but also a guarantee of quality services for the citizens.
With these actions, the Generalitat reaffirms its commitment to a modern, accessible, and efficient healthcare system that places the Comunidad Valenciana at the forefront of excellent medical care.
