Ayuso's Partner Will Sue Sánchez After His Absence in Court
The businessman was claiming compensation of 100,000 euros and demanding a retraction because he considered that the president's words damaged his honor.
Pedro Sánchez did not attend the conciliation act with Alberto González Amador, partner of Isabel Díaz Ayuso. The Court of First Instance Number 98 of Madrid summoned Sánchez this Wednesday following González Amador's lawsuit for calling him a "self-confessed criminal."
The conciliation act is a preliminary step to the lawsuit for slander and libel. Sánchez's absence allows González Amador to go to the Supreme Court. The businessman was claiming compensation of 100,000 euros and demanded a retraction, considering that the president's words damaged his honor.
Sánchez's statements occurred on October 17 after the indictment of Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz for revealing information about González Amador. The president linked the case to a "hoax" promoted by Ayuso's Chief of Staff and stated that her partner was a "self-confessed criminal," which prompted the lawsuit.

González Amador is charged with alleged tax fraud of 350,951 euros (approximately 386,000 USD) in the fiscal years 2020 and 2021, after obtaining two million euros with masks.
The businessman maintains that he has never been convicted of any crime. That Sánchez's statements violate his right to honor and damage his public image.
The court warned that if Sánchez did not appear, the conciliation would be considered attempted. This allows González Amador to proceed with his criminal complaint.
The businessman's lawyer did attend the act, although the presence of the parties was not mandatory. There was no legal representation or official reply from Moncloa.
González Amador also initiated legal actions against Minister María Jesús Montero for referring to him as a "self-confessed criminal" in public statements. Also, Óscar López and Feliz Bolaños.

Also against Isabel Rodríguez and Diana Morant for alleged violation of his honor. If no agreements are reached, more lawsuits could be filed.
The Supreme Court has already admitted the civil lawsuit against Montero for violation of the right to honor, which could influence the case against Sánchez. The businessman's lawyers confirmed after the non-appearance that they will file the lawsuit in the coming days before the Supreme Court, the competent body in the case.
The court warned that the non-appearance of the plaintiff would imply the dismissal of the file. If the defendant did not appear, the conciliation would be considered attempted.
