The Other 'Salary' of a Public Entity That Sánchez's Brother Was Aspiring To

Another maneuver by Sánchez's brother uncovered

The brother of the President of the Government remains in the eye of the storm after his unexpected resignation. Following the controversy surrounding his resignation, another blow hits musician David Sánchez.

The brother of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, left his position at the Legislature de Badajoz amid controversy over a musical project aimed at people with visual disabilities. The initiative, promoted by ONCE, sought to develop an immersive sound system. This was intended to allow people with reduced or no vision to experience the atmosphere of major events, such as matches at Santiago Bernabéu stadium.

Sánchez's brother aspired to lead this project. This, despite already holding a high-level position at the Legislature, with a salary exceeding 50,000 euros annually. For his work on this new initiative, he intended to receive an additional 61,000 euros, distributed in three payments.

The first, of 15,000 euros, correplied to the supervision and coordination of the design of the Wave Field Synthesis (WFS) system, the key technology of the project. The second, of 20,000 euros, was linked to his role as director of the Sound Expedition in Pamplona, whose objective was to recreate the immersive sound of the San Fermín bull runs. The largest portion, of 26,000 euros, was for his work as general artistic director throughout the season.

All this, according to information published by the digital OkDiario.

The hidden reason behind Sánchez's brother's surprising resignation

The brother of the President of the Government, David Sánchez, resigned from his position at the Legislature de Badajoz yesterday afternoon. The news surprised many, as Pedro Sánchez's brother is in the midst of a judicial investigation for several alleged crimes, among them, his curious hiring in Badajoz. Although the investigators' work is closing in on him as the days go by, there is another reason for his resignation.

David Sánchez's resignation comes just after the bidding process for the development of the 'Ópera Joven 2025' program of the Legislature de Badajoz, which David Sánchez was leading, was closed. The striking thing about this process is that it ended without any offers. As we told you, no company participated in the bidding presented by the Legislature to produce the Ópera Joven program organized and coordinated by Pedro Sánchez's brother.

The Legislature de Badajoz, led by socialist Miguel Ángel Gallardo, had called for bids totaling 373,125 euros, including VAT. This was with the aim of bringing several operas to different municipalities in the province and, notably, with the possibility of extending them to some border towns with Portugal.

Following this, the musician has announced his resignation in a statement in which he claims it is a "unilateral" decision. Until this moment, he was leading the Performing Arts Office of the Legislature. This was a matter for which he was being investigated by Judge Beatriz Biedma.

The magistrate, who stated that "everything seems to indicate that the position was created to be assigned to Mr. Sánchez." Despite this, the brother remains under the scrutiny of Judge Biedma. In other words, Sánchez's brother's resignation "doesn't free him" from the investigation, as explained by El Confidencial.
