Karlos Arguiñano Issues an Urgent Announcement Addressed to Young People

Karlos Arguiñano is perhaps the most well-known TV chef in our country, as he has been teaching us to cook through various shows for years. Now, he is at the helm of Cocina abierta, on Antena 3, where his son Joseba and his sister Eva Arguiñano collaborate.

In this format, he also tells jokes and even makes confessions about his family. In one of the latest episodes, what he did was give advice to young people. Yes, especially to those who don't like studying.

Thus, he indicated to them: “Those of you who see that studies aren't going well for you, don't worry, learn a trade. With a trade, you will make a living anywhere in the world. You have to learn a trade well, that's true.”

To which he added: “What trade? Any, cook, waiter, bartender, painter, electrician, plumber, carpenter... To make a living, having one is very easy because we need people with trades. In this life, without skilled workers, things don't work well, so if you have a trade, you will always have work.”

A message he reiterated later by saying: “All the professionals around me complain that young people don't want to work in these types of jobs. If at 15 or 16 years old studies aren't going well for you, learn a trade, you will be respected and paid well. Don't have any doubt.”

Karlos Arguiñano Uses His Own Personal Experience as an Example

Moreover, Karlos Arguiñano used his own case as an example: “The same thing happened to me, I failed a lot in my studies. I didn't pass anything, and they told me I wasn't going to be anything in life. I became a panel beater, but I didn't like it that much, and in the end, I made a good living being a cook.”

To which he added: “In my cooking school, 50-60 young students come, and they all learn the trade, plus the vast majority continue working as professionals in the kitchen. Recently, Martín Berasategui told me that in his restaurant in Dubai, there is a kid who studied at my AIALA Hospitality School.”

“This is an example I give you. If you like a trade, you will make a living anywhere.”

Arguiñano's reflection takes on special importance in the current context, where there is a growing demand for qualified professionals in various professions. Many companies face difficulties finding skilled personnel in technical and manual areas. This underscores the need to revalue and promote training in these fields.
