María Del Monte Confesses to Sonsoles Ónega the Truth About Inmaculada Casal
The collaborator of 'Y ahora Sonsoles' wanted to clarify the 'dodge' he publicly made to his wife.
María del Monte regularly collaborates on Y ahora Sonsoles. Today she wanted to take advantage of her participation in the program to confess something important to Sonsoles Ónega. No more and no less than the truth about the "cobra" she did to her wife, Inmaculada Casal, on Andalusia Day.
With calmness and sincerity, the singer has taken the step. All because of the numerous criticisms she has received for that gesture.

María del Monte and Inmaculada Casal's Incident That Has Sparked Controversy
On February 28, at the Teatro de la Maestranza in Seville, the Andalusia Medals ceremony took place. María del Monte, visibly moved, was one of the honorees.
After receiving the honor, she was interviewed by Inmaculada Casal, her partner, who was covering the event for Canal Sur. And, to conclude, the journalist tried to give the Sevillian a peck as a sign of affection and celebration. But María, in a spontaneous gesture, avoided the kiss, causing what is popularly known as a "cobra," while laughingly commenting: "She's lost her mind."
This moment, captured by the cameras, quickly went viral on social media and in the media. It did so by generating a wave of comments and speculations about the couple's relationship and the reasons behind the gesture.
María del Monte Clarifies the Situation to Sonsoles Ónega
In light of the incident's impact, María del Monte decided this afternoon to address the issue and clarify what happened. During her participation in Y ahora Sonsoles, presented by Sonsoles Ónega, she explained with calmness and sincerity the reasons for her reaction.
She did so by saying: "A lot of people are talking about my cobra. I admit that there are people who like it or not, because that is respect, but what I would like is for no one to confuse the terms. That is, what does that have to do with whether I champion the Gay Pride flag or not?"
"I have done it, I will continue to do it, because I believe that in this society we must continue to commit to inequality, and there still is. I am married to Inmaculada, I am not in any closet. But I have the right and the freedom to give my wife a public kiss or not."
To which she added: "I will continue to proudly carry the flag. Inmaculada knows how I am, she understands it. She knows me, and we are two who know how to be one."

Words that have been applauded by her colleagues on the program and, especially, by Sonsoles Ónega. So much so that she said: "Clarification made. For God's sake, what does one thing have to do with the other, whether you're heterosexual or not!"
Finally, María wanted to close the controversy by referring to the Andalusia Medal she received. About this, she said: "It has filled my heart. Before pawning it, I would ask something from my friends."
