The month of March has begun with a notable change in the weather, marking a considerable difference compared to the February we left behind. While the second month of the year was characterized by relatively mild temperatures and atmospheric stability, March brings with it a radical shift. We are going to have the arrival of successive storms that will intensify rain and cold in large areas of the country.

According to weather forecasts and warnings issued by experts, instability will dominate the scene this week. It will bring abundant precipitation and a notable thermal drop.

Storms on the Way: More Rain and Falling Temperatures

Jorge Rey, known for his predictions based on the traditional method of "cabañuelas," has warned about the arrival of several storms. These will affect the peninsula over the coming days. Starting this very Monday, the weather is expected to progressively worsen, with an increase in precipitation and a more wintry thermal sensation.

Temperatures, which in recent weeks had given a respite in many regions, will again fall below normal values for this time of year. Maximums will be contained, and minimums could hover around 32°F (0°C) in inland areas. Additionally, the wind could be another protagonist, especially in the northern half, where intense gusts are expected in mountain and coastal areas.

Jorge Rey Warns These Communities

Jorge Rey has focused on several autonomous communities where rain could be especially intense today. According to his predictions, the west of Andalusia, Castilla-La Mancha, and some areas of Extremadura will be the most affected by the precipitation.

AEMET has activated weather warnings in several regions, highlighting alerts for rain in Andalusia, the Balearic Islands, Castilla y León, and Extremadura. In some places, precipitation could leave accumulations of up to 0.8 inches (20 liters per square meter) in just one hour. This increases the risk of flash floods in areas with poor drainage.

The rain has already made its presence felt since the early morning in some areas, while in others, the situation is expected to worsen as the day progresses. Especially from noon and during the afternoon.

Jorge Rey's forecasts indicate that this winter pattern could last for several days, with recurring rain and lower-than-usual temperatures. Therefore, it is advisable to stay alert to official weather bulletins and remain informed of possible changes in warnings and alerts.
