Goodbye Vodafone: Gives Customers a New Reason to Look for an Exit
Users report that they are being charged for services they hadn't contracted and additionally face obstacles to recover the money.
Vodafone is once again in the spotlight due to a serious error that has left some customers dissatisfied. This time, it has been forced to refund 520.50 euros to a customer who was a victim of an unauthorized subscription to the Playweez gaming platform.
This case highlights once again the lack of control and transparency in the company's billing management. This is leading many users to reconsider their relationship with the company and seek more reliable alternatives.
In 2021, the affected customer signed up for the Vodafone Unlimited Essential plan, a service that seemed to meet her needs. However, due to health issues, she stopped checking her bills for a while. It was in January 2024 when, upon reviewing her charges, she realized she was being charged monthly between 18 and 22.50 euros for a subscription she had never signed up for.

It was Playweez, a gaming platform. After confirming that this charge had been recurring for months, she contacted Vodafone to understand what had happened.
Vodafone Didn't Offer the Best Treatment
The treatment she received from the company only aggravated her frustration. Initially, Vodafone representatives informed her that the Playweez subscription was activated because, at some point, she must have given her consent. However, the customer insisted that she had never signed up for such a service.
Due to her persistence, the operator decided to review the bills and offered her an initial discount of 30 euros. But without refunding the full amount she had been charged or showing any intention to correct the error fairly.
Desperate for the company's response, the affected customer decided to take the case to FACUA-Consumers in Action. Thanks to their intervention, the customer managed to get Vodafone to refund the remaining 490.50 euros.
This victory not only shows the importance of claiming when consumer rights are violated. It also highlights what is increasingly happening with Vodafone.

This is not an isolated case. Billing errors in the company have been recurrent in recent years. Many users have complained about unauthorized charges for services not contracted, which has caused growing distrust toward the operator.
Complaints about unauthorized subscription charges and the lack of solutions are leading many to seek alternatives.
Call for Change at Vodafone
With recent incidents, users who feel affected by Vodafone's bad practices have decided to switch companies. Many of them are in search of greater transparency and guarantees. Smaller operators or even large ones like Movistar and Orange guarantee better control over bills and offer more agile solutions.
It is not understood why Vodafone continues to make such errors, which calls into question the reliability of its services. For many, this situation has been the final push to seek alternatives.
