Almería shines again at FITUR 2025

Almería presents its innovative campaign 'Respira, Siente, Vive Almería,' highlighting its rich history and culture through immersive technologies

The International Tourism Fair of Madrid (FITUR) held its 45th edition last week, showcasing a strong draw with the presence of 9,500 companies from 156 countries and 884 exhibitors spread across nine pavilions. With these numbers, the City Council of Almería couldn't miss the first major international event of the tourism sector and does so with two new promotional products that, through technology, highlight the cultural, historical, and artistic richness of the city.

The campaign 'Breathe, Feel, Live Almería,' created by the Almerian company Taller Agencia, seeks to attract new visitors through immersive and high-quality proposals that emphasize the uniqueness of the destination. The first of these projects is a promotional spot of a musical and cinematic nature designed to showcase emblematic places in Almería City, such as the Alcazaba, the Cable Inglés, the Town Hall, the Guitar Museum, the Barrio Andalusi site, the Museum of Realism (MUREC), the Cathedral, the salt village of Cabo de Gata, or the Cervantes Theater, among others.

With an original song composed by the guitarist and co-founder of the group Ketama, Juan Carmona, and performed by the Almerian singer María Segura and her daughter, this audiovisual piece fuses local history and culture with a contemporary narrative. Immersive 360º experiences are also part of this innovative approach, allowing the viewer to explore the city's most representative spaces from a completely new perspective through their mobile phone.

Through this technology, users can immerse themselves in cultural and historical spaces such as the Alcazaba, with details of three of its most prominent enclosures; the Cathedral of Almería, exploring its Cloister, Main Altar, and Choir; the Cable Inglés; the Spanish Civil War Shelters; the Barrio Andalusí; the House of Cinema; the Vega Ecomuseum; the MUREC; or the Guitar Museum, among others. These videos, in addition to offering a panoramic and immersive view, include a detailed narrative through an interpreter of each space, enriching the visitor's cultural experience, and their realization "not only serves as a showcase of the city, it is also a tribute to its roots, reinforcing the emotional connection with visitors and with the Almerians themselves, who must feel very proud of their city," says the Councilor for Tourism, Communications, and City Promotion, Joaquín Pérez de la Blanca.
