Alert 3 Areas Where It's Going to Rain a Lot and Shockingly in the Next Few Hours
This Monday is expected to be quite rainy throughout Spain, but there are areas that will have a significant risk
The week begins with an unstable weather outlook in much of the country. Everything indicates that the rains will continue to be the main feature, at least until midweek. This Monday has already dawned with rainfall in numerous regions, and the State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) has issued warnings for water accumulation due to the rains.
Widespread Rain and Storms in the South and East
According to AEMET, this Monday will be marked by very cloudy skies and widespread rainfall, especially in the southern and eastern peninsular. In some areas, these rains could be locally heavy and persistent. Significant accumulations are expected particularly in the southwest of Andalusia, the Strait, the Costa del Sol, and between Cape Nao and the Ebro.

In these areas, the rains will be joined by storms and even hail, which has led to the activation of yellow, orange, and red level alerts in several autonomous communities.
Active Warnings: Andalusia, Valencian Community, and Catalonia on Alert
AEMET has issued orange level warnings in several regions due to the amount of rain expected in the coming hours. In some areas, more than 100 liters per square meter (2.6 gal/sq ft) could be recorded in less than 12 hours. This increases the risk of flooding and overflow in vulnerable areas.
In Andalusia, orange and red warnings have been activated in Málaga, especially in the areas of the Strait, the Costa del Sol, and Guadalhorce. In Ronda, the red warning is active for the coming hours. Accumulations of 120 liters (3.2 gal) in 12 hours may occur.
In other provinces like Huelva, Seville, Córdoba, and Cádiz there will be yellow alerts, not only for rain but also for storms that may occur until almost night.
Meanwhile, in the Valencian Community, the orange warning will be in effect throughout the day. Persistent rains may especially affect the northern interior of Valencia and the northern and southern interior of Castellón. In Alicante, the rains will occur but with less intensity.
In Catalonia, the area with the most notable warning is the southern pre-coastal area of Tarragona, where instability is also expected to persist throughout the day.

Outlook for the Coming Days
According to meteorological models, instability will persist at least until Thursday, with rains that could extend to more parts of the country. It will be necessary to stay alert to AEMET updates, especially in regions with active alerts.
It is recommended to exercise extreme caution in places where intense rainfall is expected and to follow Civil Protection's instructions. An umbrella and waterproof coat will be indispensable at the start of this week marked by bad weather.
