Urgent notice to all Walmart members: be very careful if they have bought this

Walmart customers must pay special attention to a recent notice that may affect their past purchases

Walmart has issued an important warning directed at all their customers and members in the United States. Although not all products are affected, some items sold recently present serious risks. The company has already taken action, but many consumers might not be aware of the problem.

The alert concerns two products that have been recalled for safety reasons. One of them is a home appliance that could cause fires, and the other is a ready-to-eat food item, which is linked to a dangerous bacteria. Health authorities and Walmart are asking buyers to stop using these products immediately.

Problems with MaxKare electric blankets

The first of the products involved is a MaxKare electric blanket, sold exclusively online through the Walmart website. Between June 2021 and November 2024, about 8,560 units were sold for prices ranging from $27 to $80. The United States Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has ordered the recall of three specific models.

The affected blankets have six heat levels, automatic shut-off function, and came in three different sizes (twin, full, and queen) and two colors (brown and gray). The company Yumo, responsible for manufacturing them, received 34 complaints about overheating. Two of those cases resulted in fires and there were three people with burns.

The official recommendation is to stop using them immediately and contact Yumo to find out how to dispose of them. The blankets were manufactured in China by Shenzhen Yumo Commerce and Trade Corporation. Walmart has already removed these items from their online store, but they could still be in the homes of customers who bought them earlier.

Warning about food contaminated with listeria

The second product involved is a prepared dish: Chicken Fettuccine Alfredo, made by the FreshRealm brand. The investigation began after a listeria monocytogenes outbreak was detected in 13 states, with 17 people affected. As of June 17, 2025, three deaths and one case of fetal loss have been confirmed, according to Newsweek.

The recalled products are: Marketside Chicken Alfredo, 1.16 lbs. (32.8 oz.) (expires June 27, 2025), another version with broccoli, 0.77 lbs. (12.3 oz.) (June 26), and Home Chef, 0.75 lbs. (12.05 oz.) (June 19). All must be destroyed or returned to the place of purchase for a refund. The contaminated batch was never sold, but other similar ones did reach the public.

Listeria can cause fever, muscle pain, diarrhea, and in severe cases, meningitis. It is especially dangerous for pregnant women, the elderly, and immunocompromised people. FreshRealm is working with health authorities to determine the exact source of the contamination.

Both cases are being managed by the relevant authorities. Walmart customers should keep themselves informed. If you bought any of these products in the United States, act quickly. Safety and health are at stake.
