Goodbye to the Vegetable Medley: These Are the 3 Worst Supermarket Brands in Spain, According to the OCU
The OCU has analyzed 14 frozen vegetable mixes from supermarkets in Spain and these are the 3 worst rated
Frozen vegetable mixes are a classic in many Spanish households, especially for those looking for a quick, healthy, and economical option. These products, which combine a variety of vegetables, offer a simple way to incorporate nutrients into the daily diet.
However, as with many other products, not all frozen vegetable mixes are the same. This time, the Organization of Consumers and Users (OCU) has decided to analyze the most popular frozen vegetable mixes in Spanish supermarkets. The result has not been the desired one for some brands.

The 3 Worst Frozen Vegetable Mixes, According to the OCU
In the recent analysis conducted by the OCU, 14 frozen vegetable mixes from various brands available in Spanish supermarkets were evaluated. These are the 3 that have failed to stand out and are at the top of the ranking of the worst options available.
1. Frudesa Vegetable Mix
The Frudesa vegetable mix is, according to the OCU, the worst option of those analyzed, with a score of only 56 points out of 100. This brand has been heavily criticized for its labeling and the ingredients it uses.
Although the OCU highlights its good nutritional quality, the poor use of ingredients and the lack of clear information on the labeling have left this frozen vegetable mix in a rather low position. Despite these negative points, it has received a positive rating in terms of hygiene and pesticides.

2. Hacendado Vegetable Mix
In the analysis, the Hacendado vegetable mix, one of the most popular from Mercadona, has ended up in a rather unfavorable position. With only 59 points, it is in the penultimate place in the ranking. The main reason for this low score is the labeling, which according to the OCU is confusing, and the quality of the ingredients.
Although the Hacendado brand is known for its competitive prices, it seems that in this case, it has not managed to offer a frozen vegetable mix that meets the quality standards that consumers expect.
3. Lidl Freshona Vegetable Mix with Baby Broad Beans
The Lidl vegetable mix with baby broad beans, under the Freshona brand, occupies the third-to-last place, with a score of 60 points. Although it has received a positive rating in terms of ingredients, tasting, and some other aspects, it has not fully convinced the OCU.

Despite its three stars in several sections, the analysis concluded that this vegetable mix doesn't stand out in terms of flavor or overall quality. It is not the worst option, but there are certainly other brands that offer more balanced products in terms of flavor, ingredients, and labeling.
