Goodbye McDonald's: This is the rival chain that already has more than 7,700 locations
McDonald's isn't alone on the fast food map, a chain with years of history is growing rapidly
Many fondly remember those childhood characters that made them smile in front of the television. Nostalgia, like fast food, has a special power to connect with our emotions. Today, a chain is leveraging both like never before.
Although it has always been present, now it seems more determined than ever to compete head-on with giants like McDonald's. This is Dairy Queen, a brand that has managed to expand impressively and now has more than 7,700 establishments spread across 20 different countries.

From local ice cream shop to international brand
What started as a small ice cream shop in Joliet, Illinois, back in 1940, has become one of the most recognized chains on the planet. Dairy Queen has known how to grow steadily, reaching more than 20 countries. Its formula combines classic products with bold bets that have won over millions.
One of its greatest successes came in 1985 with the launch of the Blizzard, a dessert that quickly became iconic. This mix of soft ice cream with cookies, candies, or fruits became its hallmark. Since then, they have been expanding the variety with seasonal flavors and filled versions that surprise the public.
Like its competitors, Dairy Queen has not ignored the power of collaborations. Partnerships with popular movie and television franchises have strengthened its presence and allowed it to connect with different generations. This has been key to staying relevant and continuing to grow.

A heroic alliance that hits the mark
Its latest proposal has sparked the enthusiasm of the most loyal fans of the superhero universe. In celebration of the release of the new Superman movie, scheduled for July 2025, the brand has launched a themed menu that promises to be a hit. This includes new products and combos at quite affordable prices, according to The Street.
The "Superman Meal Deal" offers a cheeseburger, fries, drink, and a sundae for just 7 dollars. For two more dollars, the sundae can be swapped for a Blizzard, making it a very tempting option. Additionally, the new "Superman Blizzard" mixes cake-flavored ice cream with sugar cookie dough and colorful sprinkles.

For those who prefer something savory, there is also an alternative with buffalo chicken strips, accompanied by Texas toast, fries, choice of sauce, and a drink. Although the price has not been detailed, it is expected to be competitive as part of the promotional combo. All these products will be available from May 26 at participating locations.
Dairy Queen has shown that it knows how to adapt to the times without losing its essence. With strategies that combine nostalgia, flavor, and entertainment, it is gaining ground at a rapid pace. Meanwhile, McDonald's and its rivals can't rest.
