Goodbye Burger King: McDonald's delivers the most anticipated news in the US
McDonald's new plan could mark a turning point in their fight to dominate the U.S. market
McDonald's is once again at the center of one of the most talked-about news stories of the year. The well-known chain has surprised everyone with a proposal that goes beyond its classic burgers. What started as an experiment in a small corner of Illinois is about to revolutionize the sector, leaving Burger King behind.
Based on a recent statement from its CEO, what many desired has been confirmed. McDonald's has announced that its most innovative drinks, developed in its new CosMc's line, will arrive at selected restaurants across the United States. The announcement has sparked excitement among the brand's followers, who have been eager for months to try these creations.

Unique Drinks and Surprising Flavors
It all started in Bolingbrook, Illinois, where in 2023 McDonald's opened the first CosMc's location. Despite long lines and hours of waiting, customers did not hesitate to attend the opening. This new brand, inspired by a forgotten character from McDonaldland, focused exclusively on special drinks.
CosMc's menu offered entirely new options, from slushies with exotic flavors to unique iced coffees. Drinks like the Churro Cold Brew Frappé and the Popping Pear Slush quickly became favorites.
Its success has been such that there are already four locations in Texas, in addition to the original in Illinois. However, all are located in specific areas like Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, and San Antonio. This has left many without the opportunity to try these highly acclaimed drinks.

McDonald's Launches into the Beverage Sector
During the recent first-quarter 2025 earnings call, McDonald's CEO, Chris Kempczinski, confirmed plans to expand this line. The chain wants to capitalize on the potential of the beverage sector and compete with giants like Starbucks or Dunkin'. According to his statement, a test will be conducted in selected restaurants across the country before the end of the year.
The idea is simple but powerful: incorporate CosMc's most successful drinks into the traditional McDonald's menu. The goal is to attract new audiences and offer more variety in their usual locations. Although it hasn't been specified yet which drinks will be available at McDonald's, the expectation is very high.

Among the drinks that could reach more places are the Sprite Moonsplash with citrus fruits and blueberries, the Iced Churro Latte, or the Tropical Spiceade with tropical fruits and dragonfruit. The Blueberry Ginger Boost or the Chai Frappé Burst are also expected to be part of the test menu, among others.
This move represents a strong bet by McDonald's to renew itself without abandoning its essence. If the launch is successful, it is likely that these drinks will become a permanent part of the menu. For now, fans are crossing their fingers that their favorites are among the chosen ones.
