Costco announces a historic breakthrough in the USA: it will start on June 30
Costco announces a measure that will mark a turning point in its commercial strategy starting this June
The American chain Costco has launched an initiative once again that will mark a turning point for its most loyal customers. Although for years it has been highly recognized for offering competitive prices and selected products, it is now making a strategic shift to strengthen its commitment to those who trust its model the most.
Starting June 30, executive members of Costco in the United States will receive new exclusive benefits. The most notable is that they will be able to access the stores one hour earlier than other customers. In addition, this group will receive a monthly compensation that will include credits for online orders and discounts on various company services.

Changes designed to reward loyalty
Costco has decided to directly recognize those who choose its most expensive membership. Through an internal email sent to its employees, it announced that this measure is intended to thank the loyalty of the so-called "Executive Members." Although the announcement was confidential, the news was leaked and revealed by the specialized outlet Business Insider.
According to the email, this select group will start receiving a $10 monthly credit for purchases through Instacart. Other benefits will also be added, such as $150 in services and special savings within the same company. Everything points to making this type of membership more attractive and strengthening the experience for regular customers.
Costco had already tested similar proposals in the past. In some stores, for example, extended hours were enabled only for these members, although that measure was eliminated shortly after. With this new initiative, it seeks to consolidate an offer that is kept over time and creates a clear advantage over its competitors.

A strategy to keep at the top
The decision comes at a key moment in the big-box retail sector. Competitors such as Sam’s Club or Walmart have also strengthened their loyalty programs, so Costco has chosen to set itself apart with concrete proposals. Opening the doors earlier for its premium members could translate into a greater perception of exclusivity.
In addition, the company is implementing other improvements in its operations. In its May earnings report, it stated that moving up the opening hours at gas stations had a positive impact on its sales. This test was considered a success and encourages further exploration of measures that improve the shopping experience.
Costco continues to bet on keeping its business model based on the rigorous selection of products. Unlike other supermarkets in the United States, it only offers about 4,000 active items, carefully choosing what it sells. With this historic development, it reinforces its intention to take care of its most committed customers and keep them for many more years.
