Yolanda Díaz Meets With Argentine Unions That Support Nicolás Maduro

Leaders of these organizations have supported the Venezuelan president, even participating as observers in Venezuela's presidential elections.

Yolanda Díaz met this Thursday in Buenos Aires with the three main Argentine trade union centers. The Central de Trabajadores de la Argentina Autónoma (CTA-A), the Central de Trabajadoras y Trabajadores de la Argentina (CTA-T) and the Confederación General del Trabajo (CGT).

During the meeting, Díaz expressed her solidarity with these entities that face the "severe adjustment policies" of the Argentine government.

It is relevant to note that the Argentine trade union centers with which Yolanda Díaz met have shown support for Nicolás Maduro's regime in Venezuela.

Leaders of these organizations have supported the Venezuelan president. Even participating as observers in the Venezuelan presidential elections. Which were widely criticized by the international community due to the lack of transparency and accusations of fraud.

For example, the co-head of CGT, Pablo Moyano, posted on his social media a 2020 photo in which he appears hugging Nicolás Maduro. Both smiling and with their fingers in a V. Likewise, the CTA de los Trabajadores, led by Hugo Yasky, and the CTA Autónoma, headed by Hugo "Cachorro" Godoy, have maintained favorable stances toward the Bolivarian regime.

These organizations were invited by Maduro to serve as observers in the presidential elections. Along with other leaders of those labor centers like Roberto Baradel (SUTEBA), Daniel Catalano (ATE) and Rodolfo Aguirre (ATE).

The meeting of Yolanda Díaz with these Argentine unions has caused controversy in Spain. Izquierda Unida, one of the parties that make up the Sumar coalition, has maintained its support for Nicolás Maduro's regime.

Meanwhile other members of the coalition, like Más Madrid, have distanced themselves from Díaz in her reading of the elections in Venezuela. Más Madrid has questioned Díaz's stance and has expressed its disagreement with the support for the Venezuelan regime.

This meeting highlights the complex international relations and ideological differences within the Sumar coalition in Spain. Yolanda Díaz's stance in meeting with unions that support Nicolás Maduro underscores the internal tensions and divergences in foreign policy. In addition to the defense of human rights within the coalition.
