Vito Quiles Offers a Talk Tomorrow in Valencia About Censorship in Journalism

The talk-colloquium will be tomorrow, Thursday, March 6, at 7 PM, a talk-colloquium in the Sorolla Room of the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia.

Journalist Vito Quiles, known for his defense of press freedom and his direct style, will offer a talk-discussion tomorrow, Thursday, March 6, at 7 p.m. in the Sorolla Room of the Ateneo Mercantil de Valencia. Under the title "Censorship and Press Freedom in Spain," Quiles will address the challenges faced by independent journalism and the pressures on professionals who question political power.

With a distinguished career as a street reporter, Quiles has established himself as a critical voice in the coverage of national political news, especially in the Congress of Deputies, where he has repeatedly denounced the obstacles imposed by the system itself to hinder informative work. His work at EDATV has made him a reference for those who defend journalism committed to truth and freedom of information.

During the talk, the journalist will share his personal experiences on how censorship and political pressure directly affect citizens' right to receive truthful information. He will also recount the obstacles he has had to overcome, such as the withdrawal of accreditations, impediments to asking questions at press conferences, and the lawsuits he has faced for his informative work.

The event will be moderated by Javier García Isac, general director of EDATV and Informa Radio, and is expected to gather an audience interested in the defense of press freedom in Spain. Admission is free until full capacity is reached.
