Unexpected twist in the case of Sánchez's brother: the judge focuses on Moncloa

The judge requests information from the Presidency about the former Moncloa advisor linked to Sánchez's brother

The magistrate of the Court of Instruction No. 3 of Badajoz, Beatriz Biedma, has requested the Presidency of the Government to detail, "as soon as possible," the positions held by Luis María Carrero. He is a former Moncloa advisor who exchanged emails with David Sánchez. The request is part of the investigation into his professional career, which led him to work alongside the brother of the President of the Government, Pedro Sánchez.

The judge handling the case continues with the investigations to clarify how Luis María Carrero, a former Moncloa advisor, obtained his current position at the Badajoz Provincial Council. Additionally, whether his relationship with David Sánchez, the brother of the President of the Government, could have influenced his hiring.

According to the investigation, Carrero was already in contact with the musician months before joining the regional institution. Additionally, emails seized by the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard show that, while still working for the Presidency of the Government, he performed various tasks for David Sánchez.

This is how a Moncloa official 'advised' Sánchez's brother in a 2022 email

Sánchez's brother follows in the footsteps of Begoña Gómez. While the wife of the President of the Government had a Moncloa advisor, Sánchez's brother acted similarly.

Specifically, David Sánchez contacted Luis María Carrero, a Moncloa official. He did so with the aim of having his operas funded with European funds.

The UCO found these emails in their investigation, and they confirm that the official advised Sánchez's brother. It should be noted that he had no connection with the Badajoz Provincial Council.

Months after the relationship between the two began, Carrero requested to be transferred to the provincial corporation of Badajoz.

It is surprising how this official was on the edge at Moncloa, as indicated in the affectionate email to the "little brother." In fact, in 2022, he began his email like this: "I'm waiting to see if they kick me out of Moncloa this week."

However, the most notable aspect of this email is how he advised Sánchez's brother to apply for European funding for his projects.

"I'm sending you three little things related to what we've talked about these days." In addition to this, he provided the guidelines to follow: "Right now there are three budget calculations, and that can't be for what's coming in the next two weeks."

The entire conversation is under the context of the Operegrina program. This was a collaboration agreement that the Ministry of Culture signed with the Badajoz Provincial Council on April 12, 2023. This program included the injection of European funds for the Performing Arts Office, the entity directed by Sánchez's brother.
