The UCO Unveils More Evidence Revealing Favoritism Toward David Sánchez

Leaked emails reveal a tailor-made position and a covert promotion in the Legislature

The investigation into the hiring of David Sánchez at the Legislature de Badajoz continues to gather key evidence. The Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard has seized emails indicating that the position may have been designed for him.

With this evidence, the judge of the Investigative Court number 3 of Badajoz has expanded the proceedings and has called new witnesses to testify.

From the beginning, the position of conservatory coordinator seemed designed for Sánchez. The emails reveal that even before his hiring, arrangements had already been made to facilitate his access to the position.

Subsequently, the position was modified to "head of the Office of Performing Arts," which, according to the judge, could be a covert promotion to ensure his permanence at the Legislature.

One of the key testimonies in the investigation has been that of Elisa Moriano, former director of the Culture area of the Legislature.

Moriano stated that she did not participate in the creation of the position. However, the emails contradict her.

In 2016, Moriano instructed the head of Human Resources to categorize the position with the rank of "senior chief". A level it had not previously had.

This fact reinforces the suspicion that Sánchez's hiring was planned from within the Legislature.

A Covert Promotion

In 2022, David Sánchez left his position as conservatory coordinator and became head of the Office of Performing Arts.

According to the seized documents, this change in designation allowed him to retain his position without the need for a new selection process.

An email sent by Ángel Expósito, director of the Presidency Area, on October 24, 2022, reinforces this hypothesis.

"There should be no mention of the creation of this job position, since what is proposed is simply a change of designation. I believe the modification avoids many problems, not only of justification but also of provision. Since if a new job position is created, it will have to be provided for in a regulatory manner, and that is currently unfeasible."

During his statement, Expósito was questioned about why he changed the word "creation" to "modification" in his message. His response was that it was "an error."

The Role of a Former Moncloa Advisor

Another key aspect of the investigation is the role played by Luis Carrero, a former Moncloa advisor, in Sánchez's hiring.

According to the emails, since mid-2022, Carrero had been making arrangements to facilitate his incorporation into the Legislature. In May 2023, while still working at Moncloa, he sent a message to Sánchez saying:

"Brother, it took me longer than I thought, but I think everything essential is there. I hope it serves in general terms, pending adjustments."

The fact that this message was sent from a personal account reinforces the hypothesis that Sánchez's hiring was orchestrated before the position was officially published.

For this reason, the judge has requested a detailed report on the case from the UCO and has asked Moncloa for information on Carrero's trajectory within the Government.

The Investigation Remains Open

As the proceedings progress, the new evidence seems to confirm the judge's thesis. Not only is it suspected that the position was expressly created for David Sánchez, but his promotion may have served to consolidate his position.

The seizure of emails and statements in court are allowing the reconstruction of the plot behind this hiring.

Everything points to more people being involved both in the Legislature de Badajoz and in the Moncloa environment.

The case remains open, and the judge continues to pull the thread to clarify all the details. As more evidence is analyzed, the possibility of new charges or the discovery of more people involved increases.

For now, the investigation is ongoing, and the focus remains on clarifying to what extent David Sánchez's hiring was irregular.
