Authorities fear the worst
The Chief of the District of Columbia Fire Department, John Donnelly, confirmed this Wednesday that there are no survivors in the tragic air accident that occurred last night. The crash involved an American Airlines flight with 64 people on board and an Army helicopter carrying three soldiers.
"At this time, we don't believe there are any survivors of this accident. We have recovered 27 bodies from the plane and one from the helicopter," Donnelly reported during a press conference at Ronald Reagan National Airport, joined by other authorities.
