The Judge Overseeing the Case of Begoña Gómez, Wife of Pedro Sánchez, Has Summoned Alfredo González Gómez to Testify as a Witness. González was Deputy Secretary of the Government Presidency and proposed hiring María Cristina Álvarez, advisor to Begoña Gómez, who is now under investigation.
After his time at Moncloa, Alfredo González was Undersecretary of State in Health with Salvador Illa and Secretary of State with Isabel Rodríguez. The magistrate reviewed the documentation from Moncloa and concluded that González proposed Álvarez for a trusted position in Gómez's service.
According to the order, Álvarez receives 3,000 euros per month and sent emails related to Begoña Gómez's chair at the Complutense University of Madrid. Judge Juan Carlos Peinado has scheduled González's testimony for February 26 at 1:00 PM. Coinciding with Álvarez's as an investigated party.

The advisor worked at Moncloa and maintained communications with businesspeople and entities linked to Begoña Gómez's professional activities.
The magistrate ordered the UCO to analyze Álvarez's call history from her appointment to date to clarify her role. The analysis includes calls with the indicted businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés and with companies that sponsored Gómez's master's programs and chairs.

Among the entities under investigation are Google, Telefónica, Indra, OMT, Reale Seguros, IE-Africa Center, Fundación Caixa, and Fundación Manpower. On February 26, UCM employees María Elvira Gutiérrez-Vierna and Blanca de Juan will also testify. As well as the CEOs of Google, Indra, and Telefónica.
The judge made this decision after Álvarez's testimony in December, where she admitted to sending emails about Gómez's private activities. Álvarez stated that her work at Moncloa included assisting the president's wife in both official and private and confidential matters.
The Government Presidency confirmed to the court that Álvarez was hired to manage the agenda and communications of the president's wife. The document from Moncloa details that her duties include organizing trips and coordinating with the government's protocol and security.
The advisor has an annual gross salary of 52,282 euros (36,924 euros net), according to the data sent by the Presidency to the judge of the case. The investigation remains open while the magistrate analyzes the advisor's role in managing Gómez's chair and business relations.
