Since August 2018, Cristina Álvarez has received a gross salary of 300,839.74 euros for her work as an advisor to Begoña Gómez. This was communicated by the head of administration and personnel coordination at Moncloa to the judge investigating Gómez. All for alleged crimes of influence peddling, business corruption, misappropriation of brand, and unauthorized practice.

According to the documentation accessed by Europa Press, the personnel manager at Moncloa informed Magistrate Juan Carlos Peinado. He indicated that Álvarez, who is also under investigation in this case, performs functions of "immediate collaboration." All in logistical and organizational aspects within the attention to Begoña Gómez.

Specifically, she holds the position of "Director of Programs of the Cabinet of the Presidency of the Government." It is a position she has held since July 16, 2018.

Among her responsibilities are managing the schedule, coordinating and preparing meetings, visits, and events. As well as managing communications, providing documentary and telephone assistance, and joining on trips.

Additionally, she facilitates communication with protocol, security, foreign affairs teams, and other departments. These are involved in planning official events and trips of the President of the Government or related to Begoña Gómez's schedule.

The documentation sent by Moncloa to the Investigative Court Number 41 of Madrid includes a breakdown of Álvarez's payrolls. From August 2018 to January 2025.

During the last months of 2018, her remuneration amounted to 21,511.34 euros. In the following years, her annual income was as follows:

47,801.72 euros in 2019, 48,350.29 euros in 2020, 48,143.37 euros in 2021, and 49,476.56 euros in 2022.

In 2023 and 2024, her salary increased, reaching 51,117.42 euros and 52,282.64 euros, respectively. Finally, in January 2025, she received 3,667.74 euros gross. In total, from her appointment to date, she has received 300,839.74 euros.

Moncloa has also presented to the court the document formalizing her appointment, signed in July 2018. It specifies that she holds a position of "temporary staff" within group A1.

Cristina Álvarez signed her emails sent to the Complutense University. However, this Thursday it is known that she did so as a "collaborator" of the "Chair of Competitive Social Transformation." This was the project directed by Begoña Gómez.

In said message, dated September 7, 2022, Álvarez replied to a previous communication from the Office of Research Results Transfer (OTRI) of the Complutense. The email was about the procedures to register the platform for companies being developed under the framework of the chair. For which Begoña Gómez is being investigated for misappropriation and unauthorized practice.

Last Wednesday, Álvarez appeared as a defendant in the Begoña Gómez case and denied having carried out any management related to the chair.
