The "suspicious" coincidence in the hiring of Sánchez's brother

The Prime Minister's brother is between a rock and a hard place

The statement from Pedro Sánchez's brother, musician David Sánchez, caused more doubts than those that already existed.

David Sánchez testified before the courts of Badajoz as a defendant, stating that he obtained his director position after finding the job offer "searching on Google." According to him, at that time, he had just completed a master's degree in Milan and was actively job hunting.

The Diputación de Badajoz published the job offer on Friday, May 19, 2017. Coincidentally, it coincided with the key moment of Pedro Sánchez's return to the general secretariat of PSOE after winning the primaries on May 21 against Susana Díaz and Patxi López.

Candidates had a fifteen-day period to submit their applications. David Sánchez, according to his version, used those days to gather the extensive required documentation and apply for the position while residing in Saint Petersburg.

The position called for was "coordinator of activities of the music conservatories in the area of Culture, Youth, and Social Welfare." It's important to highlight, under "senior management" status.

The creation of this position had already caused controversy at the time, and the Official Gazette of the Province recorded its bases on the same day of publication. Sánchez secured the position after passing a selection process in which eleven candidates participated.

However, a recent report from the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard, presented to the judge investigating the case, questions the necessity of creating this position, which they have labeled as "unnecessary." The investigation is ongoing amid accusations of alleged favoritism.

Pedro Sánchez's brother claims he found his position at the Diputación de Badajoz "through Google"

David Sánchez, brother of the Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, assured Judge Beatriz Biedma that he discovered the announcement of the controversial position at the Diputación de Badajoz while browsing the Internet.

During his testimony last Thursday, he stated:

I found out about the job position's bases through an Internet search engine, through Google.

Sánchez explained that he conducted daily searches related to his area of interest, a process that, according to him, didn't require much time:

There aren't that many higher conservatories in Spain, maybe about twenty. That can be done in 15 minutes.

He also noted that this routine was part of his daily life, which he carried out "before having coffee or during coffee."

The position in question, related to the coordination of activities of the music conservatories of the Diputación, has been controversial due to the creation of the position and the circumstances of its allocation. The judicial investigation is ongoing to determine if there was any irregularity in the process.
