Journalist Vito Quiles's talk, scheduled for this Wednesday at the Ateneo Mercantil de València, has been suspended due to the emergency situation caused by rain affecting the city. The organization has postponed the event following the recommendations of the authorities and the measures adopted by the City Council in response to the weather alert.
The Generalitat maintains emergency level 0 and the orange alert for this Thursday, which has led the Cecopal (Municipal Operational Coordination Center) of the València City Council to maintain the restrictions adopted for the day, including the suspension of outdoor activities, Fallas events, and events with large public attendance.
The weather forecast indicates an improvement for Friday, which would allow lifting the restrictions and resuming all activity in the city, according to the council.
Sources from the organization have stated that the decision was made to "ensure the safety of attendees" and avoid unnecessary travel on a day complicated by heavy rainfall. The talk will be rescheduled in the coming days, pending confirmation of the new date.
Meanwhile, Cecopal has reported the suspension of educational activities, extraordinary markets, municipal sports activities, as well as the closure of parks, gardens, and cemeteries. Surveillance in ravines and the riverbed has also been intensified by the Local Police and Firefighters, with the recommendation to avoid approaching these areas.
The organization has enabled its official channels to inform attendees about the new date of the event.
