Who Is the Indicted Socialist Former Mayor of Móstoles Whom Psoe Refuses to Dismiss?
Noelia Posse faces several serious accusations and PSOE hasn't dismissed her yet.
This is a new controversy for PSOE. This time, for PSOE in Móstoles. There, the former mayor from the Socialist Party, Noelia Posse, finds herself cornered after a trial for an alleged corruption case.
In addition to that, there is another accusation for an alleged contract splitting. Despite these serious accusations, the socialist formation decides not to dismiss her. That's why she retains all her organic positions in the party, according to El Confidencial.
Posse, 28 more people, and seven companies are being investigated by the Investigating Court number 5 of Móstoles. This is for their possible involvement in crimes of influence peddling, embezzlement of public funds, and prevarication.

The case analyzes alleged irregularities in the contracting of services for the communication department. There, according to the media, the minor contracts would have been divided into parts to award them directly. This way, supposedly, administrative controls would be avoided.
The investigation began in 2019 after the complaint from the former director of Finance of the City Council. It stems from a broader case and focuses on the management of Noelia Posse and David Lucas.
Lucas was the mayor of Móstoles until 2018. He now holds the position of Secretary of Housing in the new executive of PSOE in Madrid led by Óscar López, won the municipal elections in 2015, but resigned three years later.

After his resignation, Posse assumed the mayoralty and reaffirmed PSOE's victory in 2019. Since then, the municipality has been embroiled in a series of scandals and controversies, including allegations of favoritism and various legal proceedings.
The Government's Hypocrisy
The fact that the party hasn't taken action regarding Posse marks a new chapter in its hypocrisy. Let's remember that the socialist formation demands almost daily the resignation of Ayuso for "swimming in a swamp of corruption."
Meanwhile, socialist politicians allegedly involved in other corruption cases continue to hold their positions in the party without consequences.
ITV Case
Returning to Posse, she also faces a trial for the so-called ITV case. It was driven by Más Madrid Ganar Móstoles, PSOE's government partner at the beginning of the last legislature.
The former mayor and her councilors are accused of prevarication and embezzlement for allegedly having forgiven a debt to the company ITV Móstoles SL. The accusation, supported by the Prosecutor's Office, argues that the City Council forgave the fee that the company had to pay for being awarded a public plot.
Despite the company being obliged to pay 133,000 euros annually for the exploitation of the land, the local Government Board approved a 50% reduction in 2020. It meant a forgiveness of nearly two and a half million euros.
This decision was rejected by the secretary and the comptroller of the council, who were dismissed by Posse. However, both were later reinstated by court order. All according to the mentioned newspaper.
