A Police Union Warns of Increasing Violence in the Campo De Gibraltar
According to the organization, criminal groups have increased their activities and have extended their influence to other regions.
The Federal Police Union has issued an alert through an informational circular. In it, they denounce the growing violence linked to drug trafficking in the Campo de Gibraltar.
According to the organization, criminal groups have increased their activities and have extended their influence to other regions. This situation is worsened by the use of war weaponry.
The UFP points out that drug traffickers act with alarming impunity. They do so mainly in the Strait and the Guadalquivir. In many cases, they are better equipped than the security forces.
The organization emphasizes that the criminals have more advanced means than the security forces. This disparity is putting both the agents and the population in grave danger.

Despite efforts to control the situation, the UFP warns that the situation continues to worsen. Criminal presence has increased considerably. Additionally, the use of high-caliber weapons has diversified, raising the risk of violent confrontations.
According to the organization, drug traffickers have the capacity to operate almost without restrictions, which generates widespread concern.
In the face of this escalation of violence, the UFP has urged the Ministry of the Interior to act urgently. The organization demands an immediate reinforcement in human and material resources. It also demands that bulletproof vests with Kevlar or ceramic plates be provided.
These measures aim to provide greater protection to the agents in the face of increasing confrontations with drug traffickers.
The union also proposes better coordination among the specialized police units. They consider it necessary to unify efforts between the UIP, the UPR, and the GRECO.

The Civil Guard should also be more involved in the fight against drug trafficking. This way, operational effectiveness would be optimized, and resources would be coordinated more efficiently.
One of the key measures proposed by the UFP is the reform of the current regulatory framework. They propose toughening penalties and speeding up judicial processes. They also insist on the need to recognize the Campo de Gibraltar as a "zone of special singularity".
This status would allow for the implementation of specific measures to improve security in the region.
