The actress's career, which was recently boosted by the success of Emilia Pérez in Cannes and a historic Oscar nomination, faces a new setback. Old messages spread on social media, labeled by the left as racist and sexist, have resurfaced, severely affecting her public image.

The controversy has had immediate repercussions, including Gascón's exclusion from the promotional campaign for Emilia Pérez in the United States, on the eve of the Oscar ceremony. The impact of the scandal has transcended the entertainment field.
