Mireia Borrás Responds to the News of Alleged Harassment: 'it's Completely False'

In recent weeks we've seen how a brutal smear campaign against Santiago Abascal's party has developed. From media outlets and social media accounts, they have tried to tarnish the good image that VOX has gained in recent months. Especially after Abascal's strong international presence and his tremendous international alliances, which they also try to delegitimize with derogatory comments and fallacies.

Santiago Abascal's image has been one of the biggest targets of this campaign. However, after seeing the support the Basque enjoys, the attacks shifted direction toward other party members. But this time things got out of hand when they tried to focus on MEP Mireia Borrás.

On Monday morning, the news published by the digital outlet The Objective about the alleged harassment case suffered by Mireia Borrás, which was investigated, went viral. The news clearly states that the outlet contacted the MEP and she denied the facts. However, the news was published upholding the truthfulness of the alleged harassment.

In response, Mireia Borrás expressed her indignation over the publication of the "false" news of which she has been the protagonist. From her X account, she wrote the following:

What has been published today about me and my party colleague IS TOTALLY FALSE.

It was a false report by an "anonymous" third party, someone I don't even know who they are. What is described didn't happen and that's why I didn't ask for it to be investigated.

I explained it myself yesterday to the journalist, as I did at the time to the party when they asked me. The only harassment that exists is against VOX and it's truly unbelievable.

Already preparing all possible actions against this assault on my integrity and the truth.

The news explains that Borrás was harassed by Ignacio de Hoces. This was denied by the MEP to the journalist who published the news, but despite this, it was still published as a truthful fact.

On social media, national deputies and VOX members have shown their full solidarity with Mireia Borrás. This, after she became the new target of the smear campaign against Abascal's formation.
