Mazón highlights Generalitat's fiscal policy, which incentivizes the economy
The Valencian president reaffirms his commitment to a tax policy that attracts investments
The president of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has highlighted that tax revenue has grown by 7.8% in 2024, reaching 2.541 billion euros (2.541 billion). He states that this demonstrates that lowering taxes boosts the economy and generates more income for the public coffers.
The tax reform has resulted in the elimination of the inheritance and gift tax, as well as the reduction of rates on property transfers. This has meant a savings of 127.5 million euros (127.5 million) for citizens. Specifically, donations have increased by 48%, facilitating asset mobility and reducing the tax burden by five million euros (5 million). Additionally, 12,223 young people have been able to save an average of 1,414 euros (1,414) on the purchase of their first home thanks to the reduction of the ITP.
Mazón argues that lowering taxes is a social measure that benefits middle and low incomes. He has cited deductions in health expenses and sports activities as examples. He has also insisted on the need to apply a "zero tax" for those affected by the floods. This would include the exemption of the IBI and the IAE, as well as the elimination of VAT for the purchase of vehicles and the rehabilitation of homes.
The president has criticized the 81 tax and contribution increases applied by the Government since 2018 and has demanded an extraordinary FLA to guarantee the financing of essential public services. He has also highlighted that, despite the tax cuts, the regional section of the IRPF has increased from 6 billion to 6.8 billion euros (6 billion to 6.8 billion).
By provinces, Alicante has recorded a 10% increase in revenue, Castellón 15.5%, and Valencia 4%. The property transfer tax has been the most significant, with a revenue of 1.928 billion (1.928 billion), 18.5% more than in 2023.
Overall, Mazón reaffirms his commitment to a tax policy that attracts investments, drives economic growth, and eases the tax burden on families.
