Mazón announces a salary increase for Justice officials in the Valencian Community
This increase will affect the transitional regional supplement (CAT), which has been frozen since 2016.
The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has announced an investment of 5 million euros (approximately 5.5 million dollars) in 2025 to improve the salaries of the 5,774 Justice officials in the Comunitat Valenciana. This increase will affect the regional transitional allowance (CAT), which has been frozen since 2016, and is part of the Consell's commitment to improving the working conditions of this group.
Salary Increase by Professional Bodies
The officials benefiting from this will see the following annual increases in their salaries:
Forensic doctors and procedural managers: +784.56 euros (approximately 860 dollars).
Procedural processors: +745.32 euros (approximately 817 dollars).
Judicial assistance: +706.08 euros (approximately 774 dollars).
Mazón has emphasized that this budgetary effort will help bridge the existing pay gap, as the Comunitat Valenciana was ranked last nationally in terms of the CAT amount.
An Effort in a Complex Context
Despite the unforeseen expenses due to recent floods and the implementation of the Organic Law on the efficiency of the public Justice service, which the central Government hasn't joined with specific funding, the Generalitat has prioritized this salary improvement.
The President has recalled that this increase fulfills the agreements reached in the Sectoral Justice Table in December 2023, where it was established to analyze and update the CAT throughout the legislature, as long as budgetary availabilities allowed.
Recognition and Commitment of the Consell
Mazón has highlighted that "these agreements, the result of dialogue and negotiation, should not remain on paper." He has also emphasized that the Comunitat Valenciana ranks third nationally in terms of the volume of registered cases and judicial bodies, which reinforces the need to guarantee better working conditions for its officials.
With this measure, the Consell not only fulfills its commitments but also promotes the dignification of the work of forensic doctors, managers, processors, and judicial assistants in 2025.
