Mazón Announces a €120.8 Million Plan for Dana Recovery
The new plan is aimed at recovering industry, commerce, and hospitality
The President of the Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, has presented the new Plan Ara Empreses, endowed with 120.8 million euros, to support the recovery of industry, commerce, and hospitality in the areas affected by the floods.
Mazón detailed that 75 million euros will be allocated to commerce and hospitality, with grants of up to 50,000 euros, while 45 million will go to industrial SMEs, with subsidies of up to 100,000 euros. These funds can be used for the acquisition and repair of machinery, purchase of intangible assets, or improvements in facilities.
The program, managed through IVACE+I, will come into effect in March, and the application and granting period will be open until June 30, with retroactive effect. The justification for the grants can be made until September 30.
Mazón insisted that the Generalitat has allocated 230 million euros to the reconstruction of businesses and industries since the first actions after the floods. So far, 76.9 million have already been executed, allowing the maintenance of 79,333 jobs.
The plan also includes an allocation of 800,000 euros for municipalities, focused on improving energy infrastructures, sewer networks, and essential services in affected industrial areas.
The President highlighted the development of a specific computer system to streamline the processing of grants and the reinforcement of administrative staff.
Additionally, he announced a new phase of the 'Ara Empreses' plan oriented toward R&D, internationalization, and entrepreneurship, with the aim of making the business fabric more competitive and innovative.
Mazón emphasized the importance of collaboration between the Generalitat and the business sector to ensure that the grants reach quickly and effectively. "It's not just about recovering what was there, but about improving and making our companies stronger and better prepared for the future," he concluded.
