The Key Statement Aiming to Clarify the '90,000 Euros Delivered in Ferraz'

This Tuesday a new step will be taken and everything recounted before Judge Ismael Moreno regarding the delivery of the money will be told.

This Tuesday is marked by several statements. Among the prominent names of this day are Álvaro García Ortiz and Koldo García, joined by the name of Carmen Pano.

The businesswoman claimed to have delivered bags of money to Ferraz, and her arrival at the National Court aims to shed light on this fact.

This Tuesday, for the first time, she will appear before the National Court to testify before Judge Ismael Moreno, who is investigating a case related to the collection of illegal commissions in public contracts, mainly in the acquisition of masks during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Alongside her will be her daughter, Leonor María Rodríguez Pano, who at one time had a relationship with Aldama. Both will be questioned for the relevant information they could provide about his business dealings with the Administration, currently under investigation.

Carmen Pano, the businesswoman who previously revealed exclusively to THE OBJECTIVE that she delivered 90,000 euros at the PSOE headquarters in Ferraz, by order of the broker Víctor de Aldama, will confirm her testimony before Judge Moreno.

According to said media, the witness will also confirm that the hydrocarbon network, which evaded more than 400 million euros in VAT, would have gifted a house to former minister José Luis Ábalos in exchange for facilitating a license for fuel sales.

In her first public interview, Carmen Pano stated: "I am Carmen Pano and I was the person who, following instructions from Víctor Gonzalo de Aldama, delivered 90,000 euros on Ferraz Street." She explained that she transported that money as part of a series of payments that had been entrusted to her. "For reasons I don't know, Aldama couldn't make the delivery personally, so he asked me to do it," she detailed.

Regarding the exact moment of the transaction, she stated: "This happened at the end of 2020. I went to Ferraz, where they were already waiting for me. I went up to the second floor, handed the bag with the money to a person who was waiting for me, and then I left."

The truth is that, if she assures the judge that she delivered that amount in Ferraz, Carmen Pano risks going from witness to defendant.

Week of Tension in the Koldo Case

On February 20, the former Minister of Transport, José Luis Ábalos, will appear as a defendant before the Supreme Court. Ábalos is being investigated for the alleged awarding of public contracts to businessman Víctor de Aldama and his partners in exchange for commissions. After his statement, Judge Leopoldo Puente will evaluate the possible imposition of precautionary measures against the former minister.

In addition to these appearances, the Senate will continue with the investigation commissions related to the Koldo case. On February 19, the former Minister of Industry, Reyes Maroto, will appear again to respond about her possible involvement in the scheme. These sessions aim to clarify the possible connections between high-ranking officials and the illicit activities under investigation.
