The key statement in Sánchez's brother's case that could finalize the accusation
This Podemos witness will testify on February 13 and could mean a radical shift in the investigation
This is about the former general secretary of Podemos in Extremadura, Álvaro Jaén Barbado. The current councilor in the City Council of Cáceres will have to testify as a witness on February 13.
Now, this testimony could be key to concluding several statements and accusations about various corruption offenses against Sánchez's brother.

According to the UCO, Jaén Barbado "reported on 3-7-2017 the creation of a Senior Management position subject to the present proceedings." This statement could mean a radical turn in the case, as he himself reported the creation of the position on July 3, 2017. Additionally, he reported it in the Assembly of Extremadura.
Such were the suspicions of the former Podemos secretary that he requested information about several documents. However, in that request, he also pointed out that the Extremaduran community seemed like "a placement agency for friends."

In fact, some local media echoed the news published by a news agency. Well, that newswire was sent by an employee of the Legislature "whose position is unknown" to Cristina Núñez, who was the deputy delegate of Culture.
The former secretary's complaint put the spotlight on what was happening with Sánchez's brother, and now it could be lethal. Jaén Barbado, as a witness, must tell the truth. He must answer whether at that time he suspected favoritism in the hiring of Sánchez's brother.
Sánchez's brother's strategy comes to light and puts him against the ropes
The investigation into the case of the Prime Minister's brother, David Sánchez, intensifies and more information has been revealed. The connections between Pedro Sánchez's brother and La Moncloa are under investigation by the magistrate handling the case, Beatriz Biedma. But the scandal also affects another public entity, the Ministry of Finance.
Recently, a "suspicious" relationship between David Sánchez and some officials of the Tax Agency who collaborated with him has come to light. Senior officials of the Legislature of Badajoz, governed by the PSOE, allegedly facilitated administrative procedures for David Sánchez, in relation to the Portuguese Treasury. This is revealed by an email intercepted by the Central Operational Unit (UCO) of the Civil Guard.
In the message, dated April 4, 2023, José Ramón Suárez Arias, head of Human Resources and Internal Regime of the Legislature, contacts David Sánchez. This, to offer him help with documentation from the Portuguese Treasury.
Suárez Arias wrote the following:
David, I'm José Ramón. Jana passed me some of your documents from the Portuguese Treasury. What do you need? Regards.
The musician's reply is brief.
Good afternoon, José Ramón. I'm forwarding you the documents.
David Sánchez declared to the Tax Agency at the end of 2022 that his tax residence was in Portugal, despite his employment link with the Legislature of Badajoz.
Subsequently, in February 2023, he acquired a residence in Elvas, Portugal, thanks to a donation of 240,000 euros (approximately 264,000 dollars) made by his father days earlier.
