Ibm Chooses Valencia to Establish Its New European Digital Sales Center

The announcement was made after a meeting between the mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, and IBM's president for Spain

The multinational technology company IBM has chosen Valencia as the headquarters for its new European Digital Sales center, a strategic move that strengthens the city's position as a hub of innovation and technology in the Mediterranean. The center will serve as an international platform for the creation and development of talent in the EMEA region (Europe, Middle East, and Africa), with the goal of driving business digitalization through advanced solutions in artificial intelligence, automation, cybersecurity, and hybrid cloud.

The announcement was made this Tuesday following a meeting between the mayor of Valencia, María José Catalá, the president of IBM for Spain, Portugal, Greece, and Israel, Horacio Morell, and the vice president of IBM EMEA Technology Digital Sales, Iris Dzeba. The meeting also included the president of Generalitat, Carlos Mazón, the president of the Valencia Chamber of Commerce, José Vicente Morata, and Enrique Calabuig from The Terminal.

Valencia was chosen after a selection process in which the city competed with other European capitals, standing out for its technological ecosystem, qualified talent, and connectivity with the rest of the continent. The center will be located in The Terminal, in La Marina de Valencia, consolidating this area as one of the most dynamic technological hubs in the Mediterranean.

Mayor Catalá emphasized that "IBM's arrival is the result of months of work and public-private collaboration, showing that Valencia has the capacity to attract international talent and investment." She also highlighted that the center will offer services to clients in Spain, France, Italy, Germany, the Nordic countries, and the Middle East, with plans for expansion as the project grows.

IBM plans to incorporate highly qualified professionals and collaborate with universities such as the Polytechnic University of Valencia (UPV) and the University of Valencia (UV), as well as with local companies to promote job creation and the development of specialized talent. "We want Valencia to be a benchmark in digital sales and technological innovation," stated Horacio Morell.

The project has received support from the Valencia City Council, Invest in Valencia, and the Chamber of Commerce, in a joint effort to attract foreign investment and strengthen the city's technological ecosystem.
