Feijóo proposes a $12 billion plan for reconstruction after the DANA

The president of the Partido Popular, Alberto Núñez Feijóo, announced this Monday in Valencia an ambitious investment plan of 12 billion euros to be executed over a ten-year period for the reconstruction of the Comunidad Valenciana after the damage caused by the DANA on October 29. In a meeting with businesspeople from the region, Feijóo emphasized his party's "total commitment" to recovery and offered this proposal to other political forces, as well as to economic and social agents.

According to Feijóo, this plan represents "the largest investment in the history of the Comunidad Valenciana in a specific time period." The popular leader outlined three main objectives of this initiative: first, to ensure that similar disasters to the DANA don't happen again; second, to recover the most affected sectors, such as tourism, agriculture, and industry; and third, to advance the region's main infrastructures by a decade to make it a "connected, competitive territory on par with European regions."

The event also featured Salvador Navarro, president of the Confederación Empresarial de la Comunidad Valenciana, and José Vicente Morata, president of the Consejo de Cámaras de la Comunidad Valenciana, who positively evaluated the proposal.

Feijóo highlighted the "enormous effort" being made by the Generalitat Valenciana, presided over by Carlos Mazón, within its competencies, while criticizing the central government, led by Pedro Sánchez, accusing it of focusing on "cheap politicking" instead of prioritizing the real needs of the Valencians.

This visit is the second Feijóo has made to the region in less than ten days, reinforcing his message of support and electoral commitment to the Comunidad Valenciana, highlighting that his program includes concrete actions to address the challenges posed by the effects of the DANA and advance the modernization of the territory.
