Teresa Ribera's Exorbitant Salary Amid Hydrocarbons Case Investigation

The judge investigates Ribera's ministry's actions to grant the license to the hydrocarbons scheme

The judge of the National Court handling the investigation of the so-called hydrocarbons case focuses on one name, Teresa Ribera. In this case, in which businessman Víctor de Aldama was arrested last December, the inquiries have advanced.

These implicate the Ministry of Ecological Transition. According to a court order accessed by El Confidencial, the magistrate has requested the Civil Guard to deliver a file. The one managed by said ministry when it was under the direction of the current European Commissioner Teresa Ribera.

It was related to the registration in the wholesale operators' registry of petroleum products of a company linked to the scheme.

Judge Santiago Pedraz has deemed it essential to request the UCO to incorporate into the proceedings the file processed by the Ministry of Ecological Transition. In which the inclusion of the company Villafuel SL in the list of wholesale operators of petroleum products was managed.

Amid the controversy, all eyes are now on the European Commissioner, and her salary has quickly gone viral on social media.

How Much Does Teresa Ribera Earn Now?

Well, Teresa Ribera earns 424,236.84 euros gross per year. A figure very close to half a million euros. This figure translates to 35,353.07 euros gross monthly.

According to the website Newtral, the base salary is 29,949.30 euros, to which 5,403 are added as supplements.

Social media haven't missed this information to criticize the commissioner and remind her of her management of the DANA.

The truth is that what happened in Valencia is something that has also greatly affected Teresa Ribera's image. Then, the minister, who was in Paris, was securing her future position as the number two of the European Commission.

Weeks later, she achieved the position, which served as a reason to move to Brussels without setting foot in any of the areas devastated by the storm.

For this reason, a large part of the Spanish population reproached her for her little or no concern and interest in what happened.
