The European right meets in Madrid with VOX as host

EN DIRECTO: comienza Patriots, el evento más esperado de la derecha europea

The Patriots Party has emerged as an evolution of the former Identity and Democracy (ID) group, which played a significant role in the previous European Parliament legislature. This new formation seeks to consolidate its political influence by incorporating key parties from the continent.

Among its ranks are Marine Le Pen's National Rally (RN) and Matteo Salvini's Lega, strengthening their presence in the European Parliament. The RN leads the coalition with 30 MEPs, followed by Fidesz with 10, Lega with 8, and Andrej Babiš's ANO party, which contributes 7 representatives.

Additionally, the alliance has the support of influential parties like Austria's FPÖ and the Netherlands' PVV, both with six MEPs. Chega from Portugal and the Danish People's Party have also joined, with two and one representative, respectively.

Patriots for Europe Consolidates as a Key Group in the European Parliament

The Patriots for Europe group has emerged as one of the most influential forces in the European Parliament. Not only due to its numerical weight but also because of its growing prominence in key debates and votes.

With 84 MEPs, the Patriots have surpassed the European Conservatives and Reformists (ECR), who have 78 seats, and the liberals of Renew Europe, with 76 representatives. This rise has been possible, in part, due to the reduction in the total number of deputies in the European Parliament, which decreased from 751 to 720 following the United Kingdom's exit.

Their consolidation has allowed them to influence strategic decisions, such as the recent resolution on electoral fraud in Venezuela. They managed to articulate a "Venezuela majority," breaking with the traditional alliance between socialists and popular parties. With this growth, the Patriots for Europe position themselves as a key player in the new configuration of the European Parliament.
