Castellón's Provincial Council Strengthens Its Support for the Province's Fallas
The provincial institution will grant the subsidy to the Ninot Indultat
Castellón's Legislature continues to promote the traditions and festive culture of the province by strengthening support for the Fallas through funding the Ninot Indultat award. This support has been realized in the inauguration of the Ninot Indultat exhibition in Burriana and the award ceremony, events attended by the Culture Deputy, Alejandro Clausell, who highlighted the importance of the Fallas in Castellón's identity.
"The Fallas are an essential part of the idiosyncrasy and tradition of our territory, and therefore, from the Legislature, we reaffirm our support to continue promoting and preserving this heritage of all Castellón residents," Clausell emphasized.
For this year, the Legislature has increased the subsidy allocated to the province's Fallas, specifically in Burriana, where the awards for the best Ninot Indultat will be funded with a total amount of 2,020 euros, intended for both the awards and the banners of the winning monuments in the major and children's categories.
Additionally, the Legislature maintains support for the music bands for the Offering, with aid of 19,000 euros distributed among the 18 Fallas commissions and the Federació de Falles de Burriana. Furthermore, the Fallas commissions can apply for subsidies through competitive bidding for the lighting and installation of the Fallas monuments, with a maximum amount of 750 euros per falla.
The event, held at CMC La Mercé, was attended by the Fallera Queen of Burriana, Claudia Sabater Llopis, and the children's Fallera Queen, Valeria Cuadros Marco, as well as the town's mayor, Jorge Monferrer, and the Councilor of Fallas and President of the Local Fallera Board, Paloma Boix. During the ceremony, awards were given to the two best ninots, which will be spared from the flames in the Cremà on March 19.
The Ninot Indultat exhibition will be open to the public until March 14, when the Fallas commissions will collect their figures to incorporate them into the monument during the Plantà, thus beginning the final stretch of the Fallas celebrations in Burriana.
