Marta Barrachina has reiterated her commitment to the bullfighting sector
The Castellón Provincial Council has intensified its collaboration with the Federation of Peñas de Bous al Carrer to improve safety at bullfighting events in the province. The president of the institution, Marta Barrachina, along with deputies Alejandro Clausell and David Vicente, held a meeting with the president of the federation, Germán Zaragoza, in which she reiterated her commitment to the bullfighting sector.
During the meeting, Barrachina announced a collaboration agreement with a provision of 10,000 euros aimed at enhancing safety in bullfighting venues during 2025. "From the Castellón Provincial Council, we reinforce our commitment to adopt all possible measures aimed at improving safety, information, awareness, and prevention at bullfighting events," she stated. Additionally, she emphasized the importance of the involvement of municipalities, federations, and participants to ensure the proper development of the events.
The president highlighted the need to continue collaborating with all parties involved in organizing these events to reduce incidents and ensure the enjoyment of the bullfighting festival. Measures included in the agreement include the acquisition of identification armbands for collaborators and bullfighting experts, as well as signage to indicate the location of ambulances and safety measures within the venues.
"The Castellón Provincial Council is and will be alongside bullfighting events, supporting their safety so they can be held without incidents," Barrachina affirmed. She also called for the responsibility of participants, reminding them of the need to respect the bullfighting regulations and be aware of the risks involved in facing a bull.
Finally, she pointed out that safety is key not only for the proper development of the events but also for their continuity over time. "We work to ensure that this tradition is maintained with all guarantees," she concluded.
