Complutense Unveils a New Scheme by Begoña Gómez

The university exposes one of Begoña Gómez's maneuvers to benefit one of her partners

Begoña Gómez, the wife of the President of the Government, remains in the eye of the storm. The wife of Pedro Sánchez, twice indicted by the Justice, has once again become the subject of a scandal following the new revelation from the Complutense University of Madrid.

This Friday it was revealed that the wife of the President of the Government did not inform the university about her letters of recommendation. In other words, Begoña Gómez signed letters of recommendation without the endorsement of the Complutense University.

A report from the Complutense has revealed that Begoña Gómez signed letters of recommendation for one of her partners. She did so in her capacity as co-director of the Master's in Public and Private Fundraising Management in Non-Profit Organizations. These letters, which were intended to help businessman Juan Carlos Barrabés, were signed without the institution being aware of these documents.

According to OKDIARIO, in the UCM School of Government, on which the master's programs directed by Gómez depended, there is no record of these letters.

In July 2020, Gómez issued two recommendations in favor of Barrabés. He had been linked to her Chair of Competitive Social Transformation, to strengthen his position in the awarding of public contracts managed by Red.es. Ultimately, the businessman obtained several lots of these contracts, whose value exceeded 10 million euros.

Revealed: How Much Money Complutense Paid Begoña Gómez

Begoña Gómez received a significant amount of money for the master's programs she directed at the Complutense University of Madrid, the same ones that were canceled due to a lack of students.

The public university certified payments in the amount of 55,875 euros to the wife of Pedro Sánchez. As revealed this Thursday, Begoña Gómez received the sum of money in different payments. These were adjusted to the editions of her master's programs.

The Complutense decided to cancel Begoña Gómez's courses, indicted for several alleged crimes, due to the low number of enrolled students. In the Fundraising course, aimed at raising funds for NGOs, the best year reached eight students. On the other hand, the second course of Competitive Social Transformation had better numbers, reaching up to 14 enrolled students.

The information about the payments from Complutense to Begoña Gómez was revealed by the digital OkDiaro.
