Colmenar Viejo Continues to Bet on Enhancing the Lighting of Soccer Fields

The replacement of the old lighting with LED spotlights will allow for better conditions in the practice of soccer.

This week, the work to improve the lighting of the soccer fields at the Municipal Sports Complex 'Lorenzo Rico' and the Municipal Sports City 'Juan Antonio Samaranch' has been completed.

"The lighting issues affecting the soccer fields at 'Lorenzo Rico' and 'Samaranch' have been solved.

In recent months, the condition of the operational spotlights on the towers had worsened, making it difficult to play soccer under suitable conditions. Therefore, we acted urgently to solve it by replacing the old ones with LED spotlights," explains Fabiola Cebrián Pérez, Councilor for Sports.

"Progressively, the Sports Department will continue to improve the lighting in all those sports facilities that require it, and thanks to this, the growing number of students, players, and teams in our municipality will be able to continue practicing their favorite sport in the best possible conditions," adds the councilor.

For the Municipal Sports Complex 'Lorenzo Rico,' the supply and installation of LED spotlights on the soccer fields have been contracted, with a budget of 17,776.72 euros (including VAT).

In the case of the Municipal Sports City 'Juan Antonio Samaranch,' the work carried out involved installing the structure and fixtures for the spotlights on the lighting towers of the soccer fields, with a budget of 38,937.80 euros (including VAT). The concessionary company of the facilities, Mistral 2010, was responsible for installing the LED lamps.
