The mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, has held a meeting with the president of the Organizing Committee of the MAHLE Eco Rallye Comunitat Valenciana, Fernando Lobón, to finalize the details of the twelfth edition of this event, which will be held in the city from February 28 to March 2, 2025. The meeting was also attended by the Councilor for Mobility, Cristian Ramírez, and the Councilor for Sports, Maica Hurtado.
"We are delighted to host, once again, in the capital a sporting event of these characteristics, with its strong commitment to energy efficiency. An event that consolidates us as the Capital of Sport," stated the mayor.
A benchmark event in sustainability
The MAHLE Eco Rallye Comunitat Valenciana is the only eco rally in the world that has the sustainable event distinction awarded by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). In this edition, new sustainability policies will be implemented that have allowed the event to obtain the FIA Environmental Accreditation, recognition that distinguishes competitions committed to the environment.
Carrasco has reaffirmed the City Council's support for this international event, highlighting that "Castellón aspires once again to become the capital of electromobility, with a strong commitment to sustainable mobility and efficient public transport."
Meanwhile, Fernando Lobón has emphasized that the rally has evolved into a benchmark event: "Since the inception of the event, we have worked to be at the forefront of sustainable management."
Castellón, protagonist of the event
The nerve center of the rally will continue to be Plaza de España, next to El Corte Inglés, while the technical verifications will once again take place at the Central Platform of Parque Ribalta. As a novelty, Plaza Mayor will host the Presentation Ceremony on Friday, February 28, at 7:30 p.m., an event open to the public that will bring the competition closer to the people of Castellón.
The MAHLE Eco Rallye Comunitat Valenciana will be the inaugural event of the season in both the national and international championships and will bring together the best drivers in the discipline, including the world champions, the Czechs Michal Zdarsky and Jakub Nabelek, as well as the winners of the Spanish championship in the electric category, the Castellón natives José Manuel Pérez Aicart and Javier Herrera.
The Generalitat Valenciana, the Diputació de Castelló, and the Castellón City Council lead the list of sponsors along with MAHLE, Renomar, Acciona Energía, Circutor, Vimel Energy, El Corte Inglés, Payesa, and the Orenes Gran Casino Castellón. Institutions such as the Castellón Sports Board, Port Castelló, the Oropesa City Council, and the Onda City Council also collaborate.
