Castellón Approves Its First Strategic Tourism Plan for 2025-2027
The Governing Council of the Castellón Tourism Board has given the green light to the city's First Strategic Tourism Plan, a document that will set the sector's guidelines between 2025 and 2027. Developed in collaboration with Universitat Jaume I, the plan will be officially presented next Friday at the Costa de Azahar School of Hospitality and Tourism.
The Councilor of Tourism, Arantxa Miralles, has highlighted the importance of this document for the city's tourism development. "We finally have a strategic plan that defines the path to follow in tourism matters. It is the result of joint work with Universitat Jaume I, with which we seek to promote more sustainable and competitive tourism, aligned with the needs of both visitors and Castellón residents," she noted.
Miralles has criticized the absence of a plan in previous years and recalled that the previous attempt to draft it ended in controversy. "The previous government allocated 17,000 euros to a strategic plan that turned out to be a plagiarism of the Basque Country's tourism plan, something we consider an insult to Castellón and its tourism sector," she stated.
The new strategic plan aims to define specific objectives, optimize available resources, and strengthen Castellón's image as a leading tourist destination. Among its main lines of action are the improvement of the tourism offer, the promotion of collaboration among sector agents, and the guarantee of balanced and sustainable development.
