Carrasco Strengthens His Commitment to Castellón, Solidarity, and Traditions

The mayor of Castellón has actively participated in the emotional event of the 'Solidarity Sandwich of the Sant Blai festivities'

The Mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, has actively participated in the emotional event "Bocadillo Solidario," one of the most prominent events of the Sant Blai street festivities. This charitable initiative, which has brought together hundreds of residents, aims to raise funds for the association "Marta y María CLN6," dedicated to researching Batten disease CLN6, a rare, genetic, and neurodegenerative condition.

Accompanied by councilors Arantxa Miralles (Tourism), Cristian Ramírez (Mobility), and Luciano Ferrer (Public Health), Carrasco highlighted the importance of combining tradition and solidarity: "Events like this show that the best of Castellón is its people and the solidarity they treasure. From our festivities, we also stand by those who need our help."

The mayor thanked the Sant Blai festival committee and local businesses that collaborated in the organization. Additionally, she reaffirmed the government's commitment to promoting the street festivals, considering them "one of the main and most beloved symbols of Castellón's identity and the best example of a vibrant city."

In the realm of municipal management, Carrasco highlighted the completion of the implementation of the Low Emission Zone (LEZ) on Sant Blai street, with the installation of new planters and the review of lighting, to ensure the optimal development of the festivities. Additionally, works on Bayer street were rescheduled to avoid interfering with the festive week.

The festive day also featured a community breakfast, a "globotà" for the little ones, a display of typical sweets with the Gremi de Forners de Castellón, a paella contest, and live music, thus consolidating the cultural and social vitality of Castellón.
