Carrasco Highlights Alliance with CEV to Attract Investments and Generate Employment
The mayor of Castellón has held a working meeting with the new president of the Confederation of Business Organizations of the Valencian Community in Castellón
The Mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, has held a working meeting with the new president of the Business Confederation of the Valencian Community in Castellón (CEV Castellón), Carmelo Martínez, to strengthen institutional collaboration with the business sector and generate synergies that boost the city's economic development.
During the meeting, which also included the provincial secretary of CEV Castellón, Salvador Serrano, both parties addressed the current economic situation, with special attention to the difficulties faced by local commerce. Carrasco reiterated the importance of working alongside entrepreneurs to stimulate the economy and create jobs in the city.
One of the central topics was the LogistiCS project, the largest industrial area in the Mediterranean Arc with 1.7M square meters (18.3M sq. ft.), strategically located next to the southern access to the port, the new intermodal station, and the Port of Castellón. The mayor highlighted that this initiative represents "a historic opportunity to attract investments and establish Castellón as a leading logistics hub."
Carrasco recalled that there are agreements with CEV to promote LogistiCS among associated companies through informative sessions and meetings that allow new firms to be attracted to this space. Additionally, she emphasized that "having the collaboration of CEV Castellón is essential to attract more companies, more investments, and more opportunities to generate wealth, employment, and well-being in our city."
Meanwhile, Carmelo Martínez appreciated the council's effort to promote industrial land, although he insisted on the need to accelerate the improvement of road access to the southern dock of the port and the connection of the CS-22 with the CV-10/A-7 to facilitate the arrival of new investments.
The mayor expressed her willingness to support these demands, convinced that "the combined efforts between the City Council and the business sector will be key to making Castellón an industrial and logistics reference in the Valencian Community."
