Carrasco Claims Ceramics as Economic Engine and Symbol of Innovation

The mayor of Castellón visits APE Grupo and highlights the municipal commitment to the sector

The Mayor of Castellón, Begoña Carrasco, has reaffirmed her support for the ceramic sector during her visit to the facilities of the company APE Grupo, as part of the start of the fair The Perfect Mix Experience. Accompanied by the company's manager, José Miguel Pellicer, the mayor has emphasized the strategic importance of ceramics for the local economy and its impact on employment, with more than 20,000 direct jobs in the province of Castellón.

Carrasco has highlighted the City Council's commitment to integrating ceramics into urban projects, making it the "skin of Castellón." "We promote its use in our municipal works, such as the new Parkinson's center, the Mestre Canós and Elcano schools, the remodeling of Ferrandis Salvador Avenue or the Mercat de Sant Antoni," she noted.

During the visit, the mayor learned about the innovations that APE Grupo will present at Cevisama, a fair to be held in Valencia from February 24 to 28. Pellicer has expressed gratitude for the institutional support and highlighted the collaboration between the public administration and the private sector. "The support of the City Council is key to strengthening our industry, driving innovation and projecting the ceramic sector of Castellón internationally," he stated.

Carrasco has insisted on the need to turn the city into a benchmark for innovative ceramic applications. "We want Castellón to be a cutting-edge showcase, a 'City-lab' where the future of ceramics in pavements, urban furniture or facades is displayed," she explained.

In the context of Cevisama, the mayor has claimed the global leadership of Castellón ceramics and its adaptability in a competitive market. "This sector is our identity and our future. Castellón and ceramics go hand in hand, and we will continue to defend its essential role in our economy," she concluded.
