Carrasco applies bonuses to mitigate the increase in Sanchez's waste tax

The Sectorial Trade Council has addressed the measures adopted by the municipal government of Castellón

The Sectorial Trade Council has addressed the measures adopted by the municipal government to mitigate the impact of the increase in the waste tax, imposed by Law 7/2022 of Pedro Sánchez's Government.

The Councilor for Trade and Consumption, Alberto Vidal, has highlighted that the City Council has worked to minimize this impact with bonuses aimed at families, self-employed individuals, and merchants. "Until now, only 49% of the service cost was covered, which has made the update of the bill inevitable," he explained.

Tax bonuses

Large families: The rate reduction goes from 15% to 60%.
Recycling discounts: Up to 50% for those who deposit waste in Ecoparks.
Direct debit: 3% bonus for those who set up direct debit payment before April 30.
Hospitality in official centers: 50% reduction in the fee.
Low-income families: Extension of the super reduced fee of 90% to families with members in a situation of dependency or severe disability.

The payment will be made in two automatic installments: from September 1 to October 30 and from November 1 to December 31.

"From the City Council, we continue to support merchants and residents, ensuring that any change in rates is managed with sensitivity," Vidal emphasized.

2025 Activity Calendar

The Council has also worked on planning activities to boost local commerce in 2025. Vidal has assured that strategic events will be organized throughout the year to generate economic opportunities.

"Merchants have requested coordinated and effective planning, and we have incorporated their suggestions," he noted.

The final calendar will be announced soon, with a focus on adapting initiatives to the needs of the commercial sector.

From the City Council, they have reiterated their commitment to the sector, promoting initiatives that favor the economic growth of Castellón and support merchants in an increasingly demanding environment.
