Koldo's Brother's Revelation About His Trips to the Dominican Republic: 'i Did It For...'
Joseba García, brother of Ábalos's former advisor, spoke about his suspicious trips to the Dominican Republic
The statement by Joseba García, brother of Koldo García, came with several surprises. After appearing before Magistrate Leopoldo Puente at the Supreme Court, Joseba García made one thing clear: he will not let himself sink alone. In his appearance, he dropped bombs about the hiring of Jéssica, the close friend of José Luis Ábalos, information that was unexpected, as he exposed the young woman.
But that was not all. When Joseba García was asked about his trips to the Dominican Republic that were intercepted by the UCO investigators of the Civil Guard, he claimed he did it "for pleasure."

Koldo García's brother stated with complete certainty that his trips to the Caribbean country were "for pleasure and more pleasure". Although this doesn't quite match the messages intercepted by the Central Operational Unit of the Civil Guard.
Joseba's Alibi: Love for Cigars and a Woman
Joseba explained further his supposed reasons for making such frequent trips to the Dominican Republic. Koldo García's brother has denied before the court that his trips to the Dominican Republic were related to the transfer of cash linked to a corruption scheme. According to his testimony, his trips to the Caribbean country were exclusively for personal and leisure reasons.
During his statement before the judge, García argued that his first trip, made between October 31 and November 4, 2021, was "a tourist getaway." He also emphasized that it was motivated by his interest in cigars. In response to this claim, the instructor Leopoldo Puente asked him if his hobby had led him to get involved in businesses related to this product, something the witness categorically denied.

The UCO of the Civil Guard, which is investigating possible cash payments linked to the scheme, had focused on these trips. Less than two months after the first, García returned to Santo Domingo. This raised new suspicions among the investigators.
However, Koldo's brother assured that this second trip also had a strictly personal reason: to meet someone.
Legal sources indicate that Joseba García insisted that his contact in the Dominican Republic had no relation to businesses or illicit activities. In fact, he explained that when this person moved to Europe, he stopped traveling to the Caribbean country.
The authorities continue to analyze the movements and testimonies within the framework of this investigation. Meanwhile, the implicated defends the legitimacy of his trips and rejects any link to the alleged corruption scheme.
