From Vox, they demand that Compromis urgently explain what has been done with those thousands of euros of public funds.
Joan Baldoví distances himself from Compromís's expenses in Les Corts without justification
The spokesperson for Compromís in Les Corts, Joan Baldoví, has chosen to dissociate himself from the economic management of his parliamentary group during the previous legislature. "I don't know how that was done because I was in Madrid," Baldoví stated when asked about the loans made by the parliamentary group to the party on the eve of the last regional elections.
The financial services of Les Corts have issued a report pointing out irregularities in the justification of certain expenses, especially concerning internal transfers between the parliamentary group and the party's structure. This report highlights the lack of detailed documentation explaining the exact destination of the funds, which include 140,000 euros ($140,000) without justification and 72,000 euros ($72,000) loaned to the party shortly before the elections.
Baldoví has insisted that during the period in question, his work was focused on the Congress of Deputies, so he didn't participate in the financial decisions of the group in Les Corts. "My responsibility was in Madrid, not in the daily management of the accounts in València," he emphasized.
In light of this situation, pressure has intensified on Carmen Luisa Robles, current spokesperson for Compromís in the València City Council and syndic of the group in Les Corts during the period in question. Vox demands that Robles urgently explain what has been done with those thousands of euros of public funds.
The report from Les Corts has also caused reactions within Compromís, where some members have called for an internal review to clarify the procedures followed. Party sources assure that all necessary receipts are being collected to rectify any detected deficiencies.
Meanwhile, Vox has taken advantage of the situation to criticize the lack of transparency and demand more detailed explanations about the use of public funds. "It's essential that every euro spent is clarified to maintain the trust of the citizens," declared the spokesperson for Vox in the Cortes, Jose Maria Llanos.
