CaixaBank and Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria join forces to organize the 'Game in Favor of the Food Bank'
CaixaBank customers are once again in luck. Solidarity and sports come together in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. The bank and Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria have announced the twelfth edition of the 'Game in Favor of the Food Bank'.
This is an already emblematic event in the sports calendar of the yellow team. The goal is clear: to collect food for the Las Palmas Food Bank and support people in vulnerable situations.
CaixaBank Unites Sports and Solidarity in Gran Canaria
The event was presented last Monday, February 24, at the 'all in one' Gran Canaria office of CaixaBank, located in Las Palmas. The presentation featured figures like Sitapha Savané, president of Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria, or Pedro Llorca, president of the Las Palmas Food Bank.
Manuel Afonso, regional director of CaixaBank in the Canary Islands, and Olga del Pino, head of Social Action of the entity in the Islands, were also present.
A Charitable Event at the Gran Canaria Arena
The fans have a golden opportunity to show their most charitable side. This Sunday, March 2, at 5:30 PM, Dreamland Gran Canaria will face Real Madrid in an exciting day of the Liga Endesa.
Attendees are invited to bring non-perishable food, which will be destined for the Las Palmas Food Bank. This entity actively works with people at risk of social exclusion and is highly appreciated in the Gran Canaria community.
To facilitate donations, a food collection point will be set up in the outer plaza of the Gran Canaria Arena one hour before the start of the game. This initiative will have the support of CaixaBank Volunteers in the Canary Islands. Additionally, volunteers from the Las Palmas Food Bank will offer the possibility of making monetary donations for those who can't provide food.
Beyond the Game: CaixaBank's Ongoing Commitment
The collaboration between CaixaBank and Club Baloncesto Gran Canaria is not limited to this event. Throughout the season, both entities develop initiatives like the 'Triple Solidario'. In this program, CaixaBank donates 50 euros for each three-pointer the first team scores in official games.
The funds raised are allocated to training projects for the youth academy. This fosters the development of young talents and reinforces the social commitment of the club and the financial entity.
